Lili Chen

Lili Chen earned a doctorate in chemistry from Tsinghua University in 2024. In her studies, she designed and realized a brand-new pearl-necklace polymer network and multifunctional soft materials. Through regulating dynamic intermolecular interactions, she unraveled intricate relationships between microscopic structure and macroscopic mechanical properties of materials, then grasped underlying principles to create functional materials with unprecedented mechanical properties. At Stanford, she will use creative materials design to solve practical problems of stretchable electronics and aim to deepen understanding of functional materials and devices by bridging disciplines in physical, chemical, and material science.
