Owen Tuck

Owen Tuck will earn a doctorate in chemistry from the University of California, Berkeley in May 2026. His research asks how immune systems function at the molecular level and how they evolve to counter new viral threats. In his graduate work, Owen described new mechanisms for CRISPR-Cas and other antiviral immune systems from bacteria. At Stanford, Owen will study how immune interactions generate complexity in the human gut, bridging molecular immunology with microbial ecology.
