Veronica Frans earned a dual-degree doctorate in fisheries and wildlife and in ecology, evolution, and behavior from Michigan State University in 2024. She is a quantitative ecologist who studies biodiversity–human relationships. She combines statistical modeling, ecological theory, and synthesis research to build accessible tools for conservation and push forward new ideas for ecology and sustainability. Her award-winning research has been featured in The New York Times, The Washington Post, and Smithsonian magazine. She also speaks with Christian communities about biodiversity and conservation. At Stanford, Frans is developing a new framework for predicting human–wildlife relationships under global change.
