Zeran (Rico) Lin

Zeran (Rico) Lin earned a doctorate in bioscience from the Rockefeller University in 2025. Her graduate studies explored the development and function of beige adipocytes, thermogenic fat cells that produce heat in response to cold stimuli and contribute to metabolic health, offering new insights into targeting these cells to treat obesity and its associated complications. At Stanford, she will explore how organisms evolve and adapt to extreme environments in non-model systems, integrating approaches from molecular biology, evolutionary biology, and ecology.
